I look back and say
What a life I have had.
The innocents of my child-hood have faded
Loved ones have come and gone
Betrayed I have been
By one who will never be made.

And I look back and think
What could have been
My family in shambles
A home for my siblings and in jail I’d be!

If it weren’t for this course I have taken
I might not be.
So I look back and say
What a mess that’s been made

I’m glad to say I made it through them days
Cause now I stand a stronger man
Yet I fall to my knees
As I hold your hand

An I’m thankful for all you have done
Invisible the cure you have paid.

And thank you for all these days

That you have made me stronger
Cause if it weren’t for the cure
For the help you gave
I might not be here today

Thinking of what may have been
So I look back at what I could have done
And thank you for all you have done
Even though the cure you gave is invisible to you
